Refunds

The Ventura Marathon does not offer refunds (industry standard) however we partnered with Allianz Global Assistance (AGA) to offer refund insurance for participants. This must be selected while registering and is handled entirely by AGA.

If you purchase the race insurance you will receive an email from AGA to pay and with details on your coverage.

If you have purchased event registration insurance for an event and have a question or claim, please contact Allianz Global Assistance.

Refunds will not be given if a participant does not agree with any safety procedures we put in place.

Deferrals

We did not plan to offer deferrals however with covid-19 and everything else going on we decided to offer deferrals into the 2023 or 2024 event for a $20 fee. Deferral means you are registered for this years event but are opting to not run and to transfer your entry to a future Ventura Marathon. You can do this within your RunSignUp account. Transfer Your Registration to Someone Else

Switch to Virtual

You can switch your entry to our virtual run. Please note you will not receive any refund if the virtual run is less money than the event you registered for. To switch to the virtual run please follow the instructions at https://www.venturamarathon.com/runners-resources/switch-events

Event Cancellation

Ventura Marathon reserves the right to cancel any race due to weather, air quality or other factors outside of our control. We do not foresee this happening and the only time we had to cancel an event was due to covid. Again we do not foresee this happening. In the event it does happen we will do our best to be fair and reasonable. When we had to cancel for covid we offered refunds or deferrals however this happened before we had spent a lot of money. If we were forced to cancel a week before the event we would have already paid for most expenses and thus would not be able to provide refunds.
